So hey, hola, how's it, it happens to be Micah here with a new blog post, so read on why don't'ya. So in GT! We're doing a movie trailer! (again) I mean, this would be more need for celebration but I don't really like the idea we're working on. The idea is about a dude stranded on a mysterious island, you know, like stranded, lost, forgotten, or every other two dollar book story, pretty cliché, WELL IT WOULD BE! If there wasn't magical glasses that allow you to see shadows!.. Wait, isn't that another movies plo-
-ell, my main way of helping is by writing, because I'm a pretty fair jack of all trades, but I'm very (subjectively) good at writing. And of course, pitching in for the parts that are assigned to me, so yeah, so far, so good.
So, while that was a lot of venting, let's talk about our process. So first off, we could not schedule a good filming session, period. Mainly due to everyone's pre existing obligations, however it seems like my other teammates were able to, I didn't join because my mom took me out of school early to go on a vacation. However there's also the problem of conflicting opinions, which while not slowing creating the video, did make it a bit harder. And enough talking about the negative, we managed to get a numerous amounts of very interesting shot types, which if you didn't already know, is a good thing. Huh, well thats all I can think off the top of my head, so, onto the thrilling conclusion!
So, by the time I'm writing this, the critique has passed and honestly? We did pretty damn well! I'm suprised myself, but I'm very glad that this has happened, I was very afraid because of how weird the team dynamic was that this one would be a flop, but how strange is it that it turned out to be the opposite. So, we got mostly the highest rating for our results. In fact, we didn't even get a single "One." Which was quite invigorating, there are some low score happy people in this room. But the thing that basically was the icing on the cake was that we were highest voted for best overall, until all votes came in and we tied with Survivors Angel, (Which is an amazing video, and I'll even link it... Right here.) But yeah, it was a truly awesome experience, and I guess the moral of the story is, don't judge based on past assumptions, people aren't always what you think they'll be.

HEY-O! Guess who's in eighth grade. (It's me) SO YEAH, how have you been? Good? Good, so for me, in GT we are making POETRY! So yeah, that's pretty cool, do you want to know what poetry is? Because I believe I gave a pretty good explanation earlier, not to you guys but, well, lemme just bring it up. "Poetry, at least to me, is reality emphasised by metaphors, and metaphors emphasised by reality. Where reality would make such works as “The Road Less Traveled” simply a man walking down a road that only some people take, with metaphors it also explains how roads can mean choices, and how some people can either enjoy or despise where they go. And while it could just be the choice less chosen, it’d not hold the weight it does now." So yeah, there's my interpretation of it, really anyone's perception isn't that wrong, so feel free to listen to whoever. I found my strange journey, Ravenous. The places I went were quite, Cavernous. Though a smile never left my, Face. I always found a new, Place. No more knowing, Safely. But I know I am near, Safety. Never before have I, Leapt. Never knowing the path, Left. I will not bite my nails in, Fear. As I know immortalization is, Near. Alright, so by now after reading that amazing poem, your socks should be blown off by the sheer amazingness, So here's some time to go get them.
Got them? Good, so, while most other poems probably are much better then mine, I consider myself an abstract thinker, aka, my cruddy reason for having a bad poem. But nah, I'm pretty proud of what I made, and if you haven't noticed I used two types of poem making, Alliteration and Rhyme, Fear & Near, Safely & Safety, Leapt & Left, even though the last one is a stretch. Now why did I do this? Well simply told it's just switching between rhyme and alliteration, and I tended to associate them with Important words, and spaced them out of the poems flow, basically forcing them as keywords. While I could have probably done this in a different way, or better, I'm very proud of what I have. Guess who it is, It's Micah, currently thinking of a funky way to sign out... Seeya. So hey hello äloha, so today, in GT, it's Thursday (I lied, it's Wednesday) but nah, more seriously however is that we will be working on animating... *Dramatic pause* OURSELF-ves! *dun dun daa*. But yeah, we'll be making .gifs, and other goodies with ourselves but I mean, you need to know ourselves right? So that's where we begin. I consider myself witty, maybe not as witty as much as I should be called witty but, eh, it gets me by, oh, and I guess I'm pretty humorous, but that kinda comes with the witty package. Some lovely imperfections of mine probably have to be that, 1. I have a tiny bit of a social stutter/repeating myself, it's mostly when I'm having trouble thinking of what to say. 2. I'm very aware of my surrounds whenever I really shouldn't and sometimes focusing is a task more impossible then that one movie's plot/quest, the lord of the rings? Man that was a good series, did you know one scene that had the elf dude, he was like totally in character and that was awesome, and the dude that played Gandalf made it so some of the lines were more true to the book. and there is so many games based on it like man there's just too many good ones to count like have you ever played middle earth: shadow of mordor, it's really cool because it's mechanics are so well made. like wow video games and movies are so cool wait oh right, the list. 3. I have trouble finishing lists, or at least, this one.
So uh, "fun" fact, I wrote most of this and it got deleted, so here is the quick notes of HOW TO MAKE A COOL GIF CHARACTER, one take a picture of yourself without limbs touching and with a solid color background. Two upload it to photoshop, select the background and inverse your selection, copy your character and past it in a new layer. Three, now use the puppet warp tool, make a new layer for each time you want to edit the puppet warping, and you should be good. As for how I like the animating style? Well, it isn't the worse.
So hey, hi, hello, aloha, guten tag, in GT, in today, we are working on making composite images. So now you may be asking yourself "Oh wow, just more pictures bundled up, isn't one enough for you guys?" and the answer is no, it'll never be yes. You see, panoramas and the Tiny Spherical worlds you guys see, they aren't one picture, if you were to see one picture of all that were used, you'd probably see only 20% of the view you get from a panorama. Now you're probably all like "Whoa, I can't believe I didn't know that, I should give Micah a high five" and yes, yes you should. Well if you hopefully saw someone else's blog (They're all cool, check em out.) You should know what the types of Panoramas are. But do you really know them? HMMMMHHH? Well just incase you don't let me tell you about them. So a polar panorama is like your own mini world, simply put, more advance-ly put however, it's a panorama warped to have the bottom circle around and the top to follow the same pattern, which usually ends it off making it look like a mini world. Now what's a spherical panorama, ok let me sum it up, the world is the air and the air is the world, man, that couldn't be more vague. And what makes my amazingly amazing worlds so convincing, simple *~PHOTOSHOP MAGIC :D~* And hard work. But what is said is right, and wrong, well yes we use photoshop and yes it's pretty diddly dang magical, it's too vague. We use the stamp tool (Which is 40% magic.) to copy the surroundings of the world and to piece it together so you know, theres not just a massive line that cuts through the universe, unless, that's normal for you. And we also put some refining touches on the pieces we felt could be refined but uh, I'm at that point where I neeedd tooo sayyyy!
This is (Or is it?) Micah, signing off. Hey, hi, hola. whoa! I haven't seen you since 2015 (Warning: Joke may or may not work.) Hey hey hey, So it's 2016 and I know that's going to cause me trouble with my writing. But enough about new dates and time to talk about resolutions, or uh, just things I wanna get done. One: I'm going to attempt to be more patient, unless people are really ticking me off *staring at linden (>.>)*. Zwei: Not really a goal I guess? But finish the webcomic I'm reading, it's too good to pass up. Three but in a different language: Become meme-yer then ever. Quatro: Trying my best to be more courageous and taking initiative. eviF: Try to get my homework done, on time (,o_o). So yæh, well what goal am I focused on most?... Probably the webcomic one but that's no fun (And barely a goal.). Instead I'm going to try my best to be more confident and uh, nope, no wait thats it. But why do I want to be more confident, well I've honestly always felt a bit disconected about my actions, and I think being confident will just allow me to jump without a safety net, if that's a way to explain it. So yeah, but don't think I'm just forgetting about the other goals, they're just uh, lesser priorities, I suppose. Uh, uhm... Steps to take, so my goal will be more successful, or just successful in a whole. Well I guess it'd just be more or less not worrying about actions I do or being fearful about dumb things. Another good thing would probably be taking more risks and doing actions with the chance of failure and being ok with it. And lastly the step I'd take is uh, find groups of supportive friends, who will be there to help me when I need it, and to laugh at me when I deserve it, and me to laugh along, so yeah, might be a bit corny but that's the things I think I should be doing to help myself further my goals, so until next time. This is Micah, signing off, of MSPA. *wink*
MORE LIKE COMEDY... "Righting"... HA-HA-HA-HA... I'm funny. (No, no you are not.) So- What's up! Because of the nature of this post I'm likely to be... Very punny, so you know, be on the look-in for that... You know, this may sound useless and just dumb, but a sense of humor is a great trait for someone to have. Humor is what I deem a perfect cure, if used correctly, like seriously! It's applications are limitless! Like if someone broke up, in a party, or just making a meme on the side bar of my blog :). But srsly, humor also a good trait to have when talking, it can brighten someones day or bring up a funny topic, so. Remember to be funny. Doesanybodyneedanytips?... I bet you do! Oh er, you don't? Ok... Erm WHATEVER, TIPS 4 U Micah's WAAYYYY better five tips on how to make a Joke. Alrighty, first things first, USING YOUR BRAIN... Simple right? Well not always, sometimes people can find trouble focusing on a joke, and what I mean by, USING YOUR BRAIN, is planning on the joke that you want to make, like a Doctor joke Ex. The doctor does something dumb, just to give you an Idea, SECOND-Dery! Plan how the joke will play out, not so simple, there are multiple ways to make a joke play out, like either, Punchline-less, Punchline, or Shock which is basically punchline, but it's funny because it isn't expected, and Punchline-less is essentially just a funny story. Third! Think about your planned audience, if you are going to tell this joke at a Pre-school it's probably not a good idea to make the joke to complex or inappropriate, Ex. "Whats the difference between a snowman and a snow-woman... SNOW BALLS!"... You are very likely going to lose your snowballs as well if you tell that joke. And lastly... Really, really think about your audience, like don't tell a black joke while in the ghetto, and don't tell a joke about old farts in a retirement home... Just, trust me on this one ok?.. So if you followed all of those you should be on your way to joke stardom... Or at least the nearest comedy club. Well as for my Comedic Monolog, which is super awesome and better then everyone else's. It's going to be a-bunch of piled skits, most of which are going to make zero sense, and by most, I mean all. BUT REMEMBER WHAT I SAID AWHILE AGO... Shock jokes! That's my favorite kind of jokes and what I use for jokes, Exam-pull, 'Why did the Chicken cross the road', 'To join the soviet union.' IT'S DUMB BUT WORKS ALL THE TIME SIXTY PERCENT OF THE TIME. And if you don't see why that's funny THEN YOU'RE A COMMIE, or someone with actual sense but nah, shock jokes are really funny because of the unexpectedness of it. Hopefully you may actually laugh when you see it.
This is Micah and uh- I-I, crud, screwed up the ending... Bye! In a world, Where the M.I.B aren't just stories and folktales comes a menace wishing to rule it all… M.I.B IV. Bah, enough of that epic movie voice. So this is our epic movie trailer felt I needed to add that joke in because… well this is a comedy trailer. Yep going to be a huge joke, Literally (And metaphorically) so take it away movie text! Ah, So in the creation of this epic soon to come movie trailer are four mighty villains and heroes, Jason Hoy as- E-minx the evil apprentice. Makaio Gonsalves as Chase and Mason Doo as Markus, And the Handsome Micah Miller as the evil dastardly also handsome and super evil, Did i mention he was evil? Venuq bue que (Vae nux bae q, Trust me you will need this pronunciation). Alright but enough of those jokes. This is our Movie trailer poster! While I didnt choose the title or ever watched a M.I.B movie. This is a joke trailer so I imagine I won't need much knowledge of the franchise. I wrote some reviews on the top right to add a bit more humor and sadly no. Meh Guy didn't give us a 10/10, he gave us a 9/9. (Insert sarcastic sad violin music here). The poster is of us being swag, and kewl, and other catchphrases but enough with the funny stuff, and on to the funny stuff. While I can’t really explain why my team chose the name M.I.B IV I guess it has to do with the main villains being aliens, and the heroes being a part of a alien stopping organization actually, that name makes a lot of sense. I gave the title a silvery lawbringer feel a hero fighting a villain. I wanted to give it a dark, epic feel to it so I ordered a two moving trucks full of text to give the, law bringer feel so to say because this is about to heroes trying to take down contour lines and two more full of the color black and added a touch of color. Also I, wait are those mustaches... JASSSSOOOOONNNNNN! This is micah! Running after Jason! Peace, out! My poem is about the rights and honor of being a knight like defending the people who can't defend themselves. While i pretty much only used drawings for the visuals it was sorta (“Sorta”) rushed, mainly procrastination and some of it being, laziness… But I digress, this is about my visual poem. Not my laziness of making it, is it?
While my visual poem is barren of special effects I feel that the uniqueness and great writing makes up for the lack of effects. I used special colored text to try and give a, Magically burnt into feel so to speak. Also I used drawings to make up the B-roll, Because where am i going to find a knight wearing armor in hawaii! (Just ask sir Surfsalot). Even though how lackluster the effects were I am more then happy how it came out. I feel the the writing was write-on (Badam tis!) and if I had more time and actualy wanted to work on it at home I feel like this could have turned out fantastic. The ways I would improve it would be adding effects, Maybe I could get some natural b-roll, And probably add some transition effects. Other then that I feel like this is one of my best poems, (I have a haiku which is my best but thats a story for another post). Micah out and about Hope you enjoyed that... Wait you didn't? Awww man!
Well shucks so this is our team's (Team 5 best team) "finished" news story by finished I mean rushed but enough about that this news story is about the new(-ish) Sports Authority (Woo! Break out the wine! Who cares.) This is good for Kauai because we don't have those shops that sell sports wear so this is a pretty needed improvement. This news story pretty much just advertises the new Sports Authority. The fabulous-tastic people who made this are known by Linden Johns, Kamalei Berg, and Kalani Young And dont forget... meeee... *gasp* eeeeeeee... Yeah so this is the finished news story not the best but I feel its not the... No wait it is. I think that our news story is pretty good just not A+ grade. Its not worthy of an A+ because we didn't have enough b-roll and most of the shots we had had faults (Blurry, shaky, etc). The experience however was amazing and awesomely epic like interviewing a member of Sports Authority was really really cool. Overall, I sorta like it either way, of course there is still many things that we could work on, but in the amount of time that we had I think that we did exceptional. Alright, now for the critique. First the good news, a lot of people liked our interview composition (Rule of thirds) and the b-roll looking good so far. Now the news in the middle, too much light on the second interview alright I understand we should have improved that. “Maybe you should have shown really big price tags when your interview was talking about really big prices” we totally should have! “More interviews and longer B-roll” I agree that more interviews and B-roll would be a fantastic improvement but we were sorta cut for time, first time we filmed took over, two, hours! While its definitely not professional it was quite hard to do and we did it, so this is Micah logging off. Hello ladies and people on computers! So at GT we are working for HIKI NO news! (Bet you twenty bucks you haven't heard of it.) so we are doing a report on sports authority a sporting goods and goodies store and even getting to interview very important members of sports authority so far this has been a amazing new experience for me (Except for the truck load of stress) and when the camera isn't rolling... ...Nothing much actually we mainly just editing it and making it look good but still i got to appreciate my teammates for doing so much stuff they are awesome though there isn't much more i can do as of now i feel like i can support them emotionally you know "you are doing great!" "amazing job!" that sorta thing but its been going good. The way I help them though is by offering help trying to help (Even though they decline!). Sadly it feels like there is always one problem that stops me from helpings my best buds and it makes me feel like i'm being as useful as a brick (Without the usefulness of a brick) and i just wish. Just wish! I could help my buds but... ...My teammates are awesome and so are you. *Trumpet* Micah man away! |
